Our lawmakers, for what they are worth, have come to some sort of agreement on the budget. It is far from acceptable.

The republicans gave George W. Bush a blank check to wage war and give tax rebates. Now all they can do is complain about Obama inheriting the right.

Now our future is in the hands of those that want to just belittle each other, like children. Our future is currently in the hands of China.

Reversing bad decisions will be hard – on all of us. It is going to be up to all of us to make sacrifices. Our politicians need to make things right, or we need to replace them with those that can. All politicians, whatever party, must start standing for what is right, rather than just getting voted to office so they can have a guaranteed paycheck (which is wrong, as well).

Wow… it’s been 6 months since I posted? Well, I did say in my last post that I was kinda addicted to a video game. I wasn’t the only one – my wife was too. She was actually way worse than me…

then things got personal with it, as if we didn’t have enough to deal with…

So I haven’t really been playing any games much lately, here and there. I’ve been trying to focus on my life, and realized many things about it that I won’t share here. I’m just at a point in my life where it’s getting to be time to shit or get off the pot

I’ve also been working more lately, too, keeping myself busy.

So if anyone actually reads this site and cares – I’m not dead. I’m still here. Paintball season is close, and I hope to play this year, at least some. Been doing some tattoo art work too. I’ll post some of it at some point.

I have been really hooked on a video game, a massive multiplayer (mmo) called Rappelz. Me and a few of my NeoDawg buddies are, actually, and I can understand why they set up game addiction clinics in Korea.

I have tried several games at this point, and still want to try Everquest, but have not had any luck getting the trail to work. I also understand that another game called Perfect World exist. Both it and Rappelz are ‘free’, though buying stuff in game is optional, and often way too tempting. It’s way too easy to spend and spend.

In any case… yeah… lack of site updates are due to a monkey on my back!

John McCain has some great ideas, with his willingness to remove much of the excess from government. I like many of his ideas, though I seriously disagree with where he stands on the wars in Iraq and Afganistan. That being said, it’s not what is driving my vote away from McCain…

I like Barack Obama’s maturity throughout his campaign. I see many of the attacks from McCain to Obama, including taking so many of Obama’s statements out of context. What’s worse, in my opinion, is the fact that McCain will not look at or hold a personal conversation with Obama. If he is not capable of doing so, then how can he effectively lead this country. This is a scenario that he would have to deal with from the Oval Office.

Haven’t we dealt with one person who has been too stubborn for the last eight years? In the most powerful office in the world, there is a time to be flexible and a time to be rigid. That person should never be both all of the time, yet it appears McCain is demonstrating a lack of flexibility…. already….

The clock is running with a little over a month until elections, while we watch or presidential (and vice) nominees.

 I don’t mind McCain or Obama, and no problems with Biden. I can’t say the same about Palin, as she seems to talk circles when asked a question, when she is running for an office that would have to replace the president if the need arises. We have a president in office that does that now.

My next concern lies in the smear campaign – which has always taken place – that politicians use. The interesting thing is that McCain seems to try to do most of the smearing. I’m not saying that Obama isn’t smearing McCain, but most of it is true, while so much of what McCain has been saying either is not true or is exaggerated.

However it turns out, this country needs good leadership to pull us back from the slump that the current administration put us in. Smearing is not going to help with that, for either party. The rest of us will have to be prepared for sacrifice.

Yep, been a while since I last posted. A stupid video game has gotten me addicted to it….

 So where were we? Oh yeah, and experienced presidential candidate with an inexperienced running mate, and an inexperienced presidential candidate with an experienced running mate. Both are saying the same things over and over. Both are stating they are for change. Both are going to cost this country more money.

Will we come out on top? This is anybody’s guess now. It comes down to the need for candidates that are willing to actually do something about the economy, the war, fuel and alternatives and health care. Another issue they need to keep in mind – how to accomplish this without running this great nation further into debt.

 Election day is a couple of months away. Roll the dice and take your chances.

Is the death penalty inhumane? Well, most likely. Is the reason that a criminal is getting the death penalty due to an inhumane act that they perpetrated on another human being?

Is the death penalty cruel and unusual punishment? Why would it be? Really, why shouldn’t it be? What makes it different from justice? Justice dictates that the punishment must fit the crime, in accordance with the will of society. If the community feels that capital punishment is warranted in certain circumstances, then it is the will of the people to make the law.

Now I realize that we wait such a long time for the appeals process before we execute them in order to prove innocence, but if we know that someone is straight-out guilty, why provide that service at the expense of tax payers? We pay for some of these people to live, when they have deprived someone else of life!

It’s time for someone to introduce a plan to execute those who are proven to be guilty, withou a doubt. At least the condemned get better treatment than the victims. Perhaps that should be reconsidered as well.

Look, if you are an American citizen, and you don’t know about the national debt you should be ashamed. Just as we rack up the credit on the credit cards, we make our payments to avoid fees and legal issues, right?

Right?

What if your debt was a 9 followed by twelve zeroes? Huh? OK, look at it this way – $9,000,000,000,000.

This is the fiscal irresponsibility of the United States government. It is helping to drag down the value of the dollar, which helps to fuel inflation (oil and food prices). The budget was balanced under President Bill Clinton, but was destroyed by George W. Bush.

If our budget does not get balanced, and our debts get paid, our children will be crushed. Crushed by inflation, by debt, by national bankruptcy. If you really care – and you should – you might consider getting in touch with your representatives and ask them to make this one of their priorities.

First, this is just one perspective, with limited qualifications – not doctrine. Read for yourself, decide for yourself. I will add links where I can. If you drive, buy food or do anything beyond live in a cave, this affects you.

The oil issue hits everyone. When oil goes up, so does gas. When fuel goes up so do prices for airplane tickets, food, cruises, deliveries, etc. This has been a global issue, though Americans are less accustomed to the higher prices. It has even created huge enough impacts on food on some countries to instigate riots.

Until the 1980s there were two economic super powers. Through the 90s the U.S was the primary economic super power, which took quite a bruising with the 9/11 attacks. It then devoted a vast amount of resources to the fight in Afganistan, and later in Iraq (both missions consume fuel on a large scale, by the way). All the while China and Europe (the euro) has been on the rise. Many countries would love to see the dollar fall, which could destabilize or devastate the U.S. economy, and this could be done by tying oil to another powerful currency, again – the euro. This is the conspiracy theory, or the economic war theory. Iran has established a trading facility to do just that.

Could it be that we are running out of oil? Absolutely! Or maybe we there are other resources that we haven’t tapped yet because it hasn’t been economical, which tends to be the case. Oil sands locations have been known about for some time, and we have not made use of them until know. There are vast quantities of oil remaining in the U.S. and Canada, it’s just harder to get to and refine. 

Anytime there is a conflict oil prices tend to rise to some degree, but the larger the campaing, the larger the rise. In the Middle East it only gets worse. There are a number of ‘triggers’ for high oils prices. There is even a good possibility now that many investors are investing in oil while the Dollar is down. This increases inflation. The dollar and oil often travel in different directions on the stock market. If and when the Fed starts to increase interest rates (increasing the value of the dollar), there is a good chance that the price of oil will decline, at least some.

If you’re asking if there is anything that can be done, quit supporting foreign oil. When you buy a new vehicle take pride in the gas mileage, not the horsepower and slow down. Ride the bus or a bike. Make less trips to the store. Use clean energy.
